Cast:

Plot:

U.S. Marines Lance Corporal (Links to an external site.) Harold Dawson and Private First Class (Links to an external site.) Louden Downey are facing a general court-martial (Links to an external site.), accused of murdering fellow Marine Private First Class William Santiago at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base (Links to an external site.) in Cuba. Santiago had poor relations with his fellow Marines, compared unfavorably to them, and broke the chain of command (Links to an external site.) in an attempt to get transferred out of Guantanamo.

While it is believed that Santiago’s death was retribution for him naming Dawson in a fenceline shooting, Naval (Links to an external site.) investigator and lawyer Lieutenant Commander (Links to an external site.) JoAnne Galloway (Demi Moore (Links to an external site.)) largely suspects Dawson and Downey carried out a “code red” order: a violent extrajudicial punishment (Links to an external site.). Galloway wants to defend them, but the case is given to Lieutenant  (Links to an external site.)Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise (Links to an external site.)) – an inexperienced and unenthusiastic lawyer with a penchant for plea bargains. Galloway convinces Kaffee to take the case to court. The defense manages to establish the existence of “code red” orders at Guantanamo.
